(mt.com) -- After a 9-0 thrash of France, Sweden decided to stick with Stefan Liv in goal against the Swiss. In one of the major upsets so far, the Swiss pulled off a 4-2 victory, as goaltender Jonas Hiller put on a spectacular performance for Switzerland, stopping 28 of 30 shots.
Patric Hornqvist and Fredrik Warg were the lone scorers for Sweden, while Thierry Paterlini, Thibault Monnet, Beat Forster and Andres Ambuhl scored for the Swiss.
(mt.com) -- After the dissappointing loss to Switzerland, you can bet the Swedes were happy to have goaltender Henrik Lundqvist join the team and was ready to start against Denmark. Mikael Tellqvist remained as the backup.
A motivated Swedish team put 43 shots on the Danes as they came away with an 8-1 win. Tony Martensson scored 2 goals, and Mattias Weinhandl finished with 3 points.
Sweden continues its quest for gold against the Russians on Saturday afternoon.
